Terms of use

The First Five is a digital booklet — a web application for parents covering a child's first five years — operated by Kaushik Kaliappan, sole proprietor, Chennai, India ("we").

What you buy: a personal, non-transferable licence key that opens the booklet on up to 3 devices, intended for one family. Both editions (Gulmohar and Morpankh) are included.
What's included: all content updates for the life of the product — rate changes, school-cutoff changes, new rules — at no further charge.
What it is not: the booklet is an educational companion. It is not medical, financial or legal advice. Your paediatrician, your chartered accountant and official government sources always take precedence.
Fair use: please don't resell, share publicly, or attempt to copy the booklet's content or keys. Keys involved in abuse may be deactivated.
These terms are governed by the laws of India.

Privacy

This product was built on one promise: your child's information never leaves your phone.

Inside the booklet: your child's name, date of birth, city and progress are stored only in your phone's local storage. We run no account system, no analytics on this data, and no cloud sync. We could not read it if we wanted to. Backups you export are files you keep.
When you buy: payment is processed entirely by Razorpay (or Gumroad for international purchases) — we never see or store your card or UPI details. To deliver and service your licence we store: your email address, your licence key, your payment reference, and anonymised device fingerprints used to count your 3 activations. That's the complete list.
Email: your key is delivered via Resend. We send purchase-related email only — no newsletters unless you separately opt in.
Deletion: email us and we'll delete your purchase record (this deactivates the key). Data on your phone is yours to delete anytime by clearing the app.

Refunds & cancellation

7-day, no-questions refund. If the booklet isn't right for you, email us within 7 days of purchase from the email you bought with — you'll get a full refund to your original payment method, no forms, no interrogation.
Refunds are processed within 2 business days on our side; banks typically take 5–7 business days to show it.
On refund, the licence key is deactivated. Anything stored on your phone remains yours.

Delivery

This is a digital product — nothing ships. Your licence key and a one-tap opening link arrive by email, typically within one minute of payment. If it hasn't arrived in 10 minutes, check spam, then use "I lost my key" on the booklet's opening page, or email us.

Pricing

India: ₹1,999, inclusive of applicable taxes, via UPI, cards and netbanking. International: $29 via card/PayPal. Prices may change; the price you paid is the price you paid — updates stay included.
